BRONWYN WEIR - Managing Director at Weir Legal and Consulting

Bronwyn is the co-author of the Building Confidence Report and reflects her reputation as a legal advisor on building regulations for more than 20 years. Bronwyn has been advising the NSW and WA governments on their implementation of the Building Confidence Report and she is also part of the Expert Advisory Group appointed to advise the ABCB on its work to develop a national framework for the implementation of the report.

In 2007 Damien Crough began working with renowned Australian architect Nonda Katsalidis and Hickory Group to develop and bring to market the prefabricated Unitised BuildingTM system. In 2014 Damien established Advanced Offsite Group, a specialist consultancy which enables clients to improve and enter new markets with existing offsite technologies. Damien also works with clients that are new to the Offsite industry to identify opportunities for the use of the Offsite supply chain and effectively incorporate these elements into the design, procurement and project execution phases of construction projects.

An urban planner and policy manager, Dyan joined Master Builders back in 2013.  She drives Master Builders’ policy and advocacy agenda, with the challenge of building confidence and building quality central to the agenda.  She works on building regulation reform both in Queensland and nationally, serving as a member of the Australian Building Codes BCR Implementation Team formed to implement the recommendations of the Shergold Weir Building Confidence Report. Her role within the Team was to lead the production of the National Building Product Assurance Framework and Design Acceptance Model Guidance.

In 2010, Patrick became one of the three founding employees of CreditorWatch and helped to shape the innovative product we see today. Throughout the years, Patrick’s industry knowledge has become second to none. His leadership qualities have enabled him to play a key part in developing CreditorWatch’s values and team-spirited culture, as well as drive the company to considerable growth. He also sits on the Business Advisory Panel of ASIC.

Laszlo leads KPMG’s blockchain services practice for Asia Pacific. His mandate is to work with clients across the public and private sector, co-develop and deploy distributed ledger solutions in Australia and internationally. He has more than 20 years’ experience working with large financial services organizations, startups and consultancies, bringing knowledge and insights from local and international banks, broker/dealer organisations and fintech startups.

Timothy Hibbert is a Principal Economist in the Building and Construction forecasting unit of BIS Oxford Economics. Working over the full building spectrum, he oversees building forecast subscriptions including: Australia Building Forecast Service, Building Work Done and Regional Building. Timothy is also actively engaged in consultancy work across demand modelling, market sizing, benchmarking and policy analysis.

James is a credit risk domain specialist with extensive knowledge in the areas of credit decisioning, credit portfolio optimization, quantitative analytics and regulatory compliance. As a co-founder of Open Analytics and through his previous experience leading big-4 banks credit analytics teams James has supported a wide range of creditors of all shapes and sizes to optimize risk-reward outcomes throughout the entire credit lifecycle.

James works with innovators, change makers, and leaders to develop scalable solutions to some of our most challenging environmental and social problems. For the past 15 years he has been leading numerous innovation programs including projects in biofuels, world record breaking solar thermal technologies, smart grid technology, intelligent agent based modelling technologies, low emissions power generation, and innovations in sustainable built environments.

Jorge ensures that GBCA strategic priorities, partnerships, and product and services, including Green Star, accelerate the transformation of Australia’s built environment – delivering more livable, resilient, and sustainable places for everyone. He has an architecture degree from the University of Monterrey in Mexico and a Masters in Design Science from the University of Sydney. He also worked as an ESD consultant and product assessor with EcoSpecifier, and was an architect with the Buchan Group.
